Barcelona successfully ensure a ticket to the last 16 of the Champions League for a victory in Moscow. The first goal of Barcelona scored by Daniel Alves, before Messi added two goals.
Additional two goals making Messi scored a record-equaling Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy, in the Champions League. Messi and Nistelrooy now equally has scored 56 goals in the Champions League, out of the qualifying round.
However, Messi grabbed the goals only from 73 matches, while Nistelrooy had through 81 games. Champions League goal record is still held by Real Madrid legend, Raul Gonzalez, with 71 goals from 144 matches.
The second record was achieved by Messi equaled the record of Raul. Both Messi and Raul now have scored goals in 19 different cities in the Champions League. Messi scored most in the city of Barcelona (29 goals), followed by Glasgow, Donetsk and Prague with three goals each city.
Messi himself has now scored 80 goals during 2012. Argentine striker is just under five goals to equal the record of German legend, Gerd Mueller, who scored 85 goals during 1972. viva
