Barca hasn't tempted Fabregas again

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed Barcelona have not re-bid for Cesc Fabregas. Wenger hopes Gunners captain was last season.

Last season a 35 million pound bid for Barcelona to get Fabregas rebuffed by Arsenal. Even so, the Blaugrana want to do everything possible to convince Fabregas last season moved along.

Having had time to subside for a while, is now reportedly ready to spend again Barcelona 40 million pounds to get Fabregas. However, the news was denied by Wenger.

"There is an offer from Barcelona last year which I will not hide. This year there has been no bid. My hope is to maintain Fabregas, for me he is the best midfielder in the world and we build a team around him," Wenger said as quoted by The Sun.

Having failed miserably last season, Wenger admitted will move fast in the transfer market. French architect is hoping to get a defender as the Gunners legend, namely Tony Adams and Martin Keown.

"I will observe the player in South America, then coming back. Yes, I want to get a player like Adams and Keown, because we lose points when fighting with a typical British team," said Wenger.

"When you get the ball high, you trouble. At that point we lost points," close the deal with Arsenal's manager since 1996.
