Fabio Capello admitted that he had completed the problem with defender Rio Ferdinand ahead of the game for England against Switzerland in Euro 2012 qualifier Group G on Saturday night, June 4, 2011.
Capello and Ferdinand involved cold war Italian architects after the ouster of Ferdinand as England captain. Capello makes John Terry back as captain after the captain's armband removed from his arm, because it involved cases of adultery.
Previous Ferdinand did not want to talk to Capello because of disappointment with the decision. However, the former coach of Real Madrid and Juventus had admitted that he had spoken with Ferdinand to solve the problem.
Capello ensure Ferdinand will be vice-captain against Switzerland at Wembley Stadium later.
"The captain is John Terry, Rio (Ferdinand), vice-captain. I have spoken to Rio and explains why I took this decision. He spoke something to me. He was not happy, but understood. In the end we shook hands," said Capello was quoted as ESPN.
Capello later denied that Ferdinand will sit on the bench against Switzerland. Capello is reportedly upset with Ferdinand that several times ignored his request to speak.
"I never thought Rio would stop playing for us. He likes to play with the national team. He's an important player, and important personal in the locker room,"said Capello.
